According to this article “Catalyst Study” women do not get paid equally as men “...women’s wages are only 81 percent of men’s wages…” Even as it comes to having the same job and the same responsibility. According to the article they believe that the reason to why women are being paid less than men is because “women are paid based upon gender stereotypes.” A common stereotypes for women at pay is that “women don’t need equal pay because they are married.”8 according to the article of “Catalyst Study.”
The article “Gender Stereotypes in Print ads” shows some of the advertisements in which were given out to the public from the 19th century to the years 2000. The article show “an Ad for Del Monte ketchup circa 1953” to which “it represents a gender stereotype of women being weak,” However, when it comes to the ad of 2010 the ad shows the “...falls back on stereotypes of masculinity in an attempt to discredit a stereotype of masculinity.”11 Within these article they show from previous years how it is that gender stereotypes were viewed on and how it is that advertisements have changed the way in which they represent themselves to their audience.

The graph in which they demonstrate how it is that women have been stepping up to the way in which how much money it is that they make over their husbands is “...28% of the time when both work,” Not all families go by this or may think that these types of situations are “wrong” but the uprising of these events to change the type of “typical gender roles” for the man to either be a stay at home father instead of the mother has shown a great improvement in society so far.
