My issue in which I am choosing to address is gender stereotypes. The reason to this is because I have notice that with gender stereotypes comes gender discrimination. My issue is important because when it comes to gender stereotypes they have an individual at a young age placed in a category of feminism or masculine. And within these categories the specific characteristics or traits are to be seen in the boy or girl. I want to address this issue because as years, generations have developed apparently not fitting/fulling these types of traits to your born sex, you are seen off place. We are so accustomed to seeing feminism acting the way in which they have for many centuries and same to males acting masculine. If a male acts slightly feminism, for example crying in a slight discomfort situation, they are told “ act like a man,” and if to fail to “act like a man” they have an automatic label of “gay/bisexual” thrown to them. Same goes to woman, if they act masculine they are thrown with the phrase “ a lady does not act that certain way,” and if to fail to come into “their” category they are as well placed with the same label as the males who fail to show full masculine. I want to know more about this topic because I want to have art least some direction to where these types of ideas came from. To where the ideas of discrimination came into place for a person who does not fit the category of their sex. I want to know where this force of gender stereotypes, the way of acting, came from and why they are existing. Did it come from religion, culture, society, or just the simple phase that as humans we are not used to such ways of homosexuality. That we cannot see a change for a man must marry a woman and that is how it must always be. The ignorance of a change of mindset on people to view homosexuality as the same. Why is it hard to change this mindset, we as human being always want to new up to date technology, but can’t simply think of the idea of changing marriage of a man and a women to same sex.
